My office and @NYSHCR are suing Peak, a real estate developer, for illegally deregulating rent stabilized apartments in New York City.  Peak deceived tenants and housing regulators to line their pockets and overcharge New Yorkers as affordable housing grew more scarce.

Peak schemed to deregulate at least 159 units in Brooklyn and Queens and made false statements about the status of the units to bypass laws. We're seeking to return overcharged rents to tenants, make the apartments rent stabilized again, and make Peak pay for breaking our laws.
