The problem of Farcaster is not that decentralized social network doesn't have PMF.
It's that Farcaster became a place for Ethereum maxis to complain about everything and share esoteric research that only 3 people understand.
Social networks should escape isolation.

Farcaster is admitting what everyone felt for a while.
The decentralized social network never found real PMF. Despite 4.5 years of trying and a few successful adoption spikes.
X networks effects too hard to break free from.
Instead, Farcaster will focus on being a wallet first, social network second.
>user signs up
>funds wallet
>uses the wallet
>finds it useful
>while using wallet user finds social features
"It’s far easier to add a wallet to a social network than a social network to a wallet." - DWR
“come for the tool, stay for the network”
It seems the same strategy Base app is built on.

Turning 22 years old today!
I don't usually outline any goals for a year because I either seriously overperform or underperform. Lucky for me, this year is the first option.
When you think about it, you think that time really flies. Just recently I was 17 graduating from highschool, and now I'm 22 already, wow.
But when you deeply think about, you could probably write a book what happened in the past 5 years.
Leaving hometown, dropping out of 3 universities, surviving in Moscow with $200 per month, leaving home country, moving across different countries, obtaining residencies, having a job, getting fired, having a job again, quitting job, starting a company, etc.
Crypto has been both a big disappointment and blessing, more on that will be discussed in future posts.
Some things that happened last year:
• Lost 17 kgs (37 lbs for american people)
• Gained 10 kgs in bench press, now at 170 kgs (375 lbs for american people)
• Started a company, experienced all stages: growth, stagnation, decline
• Travelled across 8 countries: worst city — Dubai, best city — Bangkok
• Read 0 books
• Earned some money, lost some money
• Got some friends, lost some friends
• Visited family I haven't seen for 2 years
• Started working with psychologist, personal gym coach, started caring more about mental health
As we all know: life is a series of random circumstances that has led us to where we are now. The more you try, the luckier those circumstances can become.

Today is my birthday. I turn 21 years old!
Here are some facts that you probably didn't know about me:
• I did karate for 8 years and am a world championship bronze medalist.
• I have 12,000+ hours in @TeamFortress and played it professionally.
• I studied computer science for 2 years and then dropped out.
Some people care a lot about age and use it to their advantage, saying things like, "Wow, I'm so young, look at what I've achieved," or "I've lived there longer than you, so I know better." I think this is a totally wrong philosophy.
It's pretty simple because everyone is born under different circumstances:
• Someone was born in a first-world country in a pretty wealthy family.
• Someone comes from the middle class.
• Someone was born in a country with a really bad passport and hardly a roof over their head.
So, judging someone by what they have achieved by a certain age doesn't make any sense, nor does shaming yourself for not doing as well as someone else by a certain age.
I really like the culture we have in Web3; an 18-year-old can work with a 35-year-old and see absolutely no difference. TradFi companies usually don't have that.
I'm pretty happy with what I have now and aim to do even better in the future. I'm a pretty introverted person, so I have a pretty small circle of people I talk to on a daily basis: my mom, my girlfriend, and my best friend.
Now I'm very happy to work with smart people and amazing protocols like @Polymer_Labs, @0xSonicLabs, @SwapXfi, @threesigmaxyz, and a couple of others coming pretty soon!
I really like research & writing and focus most of my time on that, not forgetting to lift some weights haha.
I'm sure 2025 will be an amazing year both for me and for crypto as an industry, with Bitcoin updating its ATH and lots of protocols going live. I'm pretty excited for the future.
