Tempo, a payment public chain jointly launched by Stripe and Paradigm, has officially opened its testnet to the public. Tempo focuses on stablecoins and cross-border payment scenarios, supports direct gas payments from stablecoins, and sets up dedicated payment channels to ensure low fees and transaction stability. The project has attracted participation from OpenAI, Shopify, Visa, Mastercard, UBS, Klarna and others, and Klarna plans to issue the stablecoin KlarnaUSD on Tempo next year. The industry believes that Tempo will compete head-on with Circle's payment public chain Arc, whose testnet has attracted participation from Visa, BlackRock, and GS. (Decrypt)
