In Aug 2014, I picked up a “No Caller ID” call from a 19-year-old @VitalikButerin — introduced via @etmccauley — asking to speak at our @Cryptolina conference in Raleigh about the @Ethereum Project, whose public crowdsale had launched just weeks earlier. At the time, he was still writing for @BitcoinMagazine. Back then, I was mostly interested in Bitcoin and Realcoin (later Tether). But with @_moelevin’s North American #BTC Conf just wrapped in Chicago, I wanted Cryptolina to be the next stop on the circuit. Of course I said yes — and moderated a “Bitcoin 2.0” panel with Vitalik, Dan Larimer, and Shawn Wilkinson of @Storj. (See Pic) We lost a ton of money hosting it. But I’d do it all over again.
