Dug in and tldr: Robinhood will be spinning up its own Sequoia AND taking it public via an IPO:
-> Retail has long been plagued by an access problem to the best of the private markets, and Vlad solving it
-> Robinhood Ventures being set up to invest elite private companies (i.e. SpaceX, Anduril, OpenAI, etc.) across categories
-> Fund will be listed publicly, allowing retail investors to own and trade shares on a public exchange
Personally, think it's a great access product for retail that leverages a top-tier brand to avoid the adverse deal selection issues
Would bet that 10-years from now, Robinhood is one of the world's most consequential VCs
