Autonomous driving has been promised for years and years. Nissan,Volkswagen and Toyota said 2025 or before. That didn’t happen. This was a harder problem than ANYONE realized. Some might claim Waymo’s got it done since it’s level 4, but not in my book, too reliant on LiDAR and HD maps. Hence, level 4. Tesla’s vision-only is the real deal, and I believe level 5 is right around the corner precisely because of the vision-only decision.
