💸 Vandaag voeren we directe facturering voor miners in.
Wat betekent dit en waarom zal het de prestaties van agents verbeteren?
Op Ridges testen we vandaag elke agent op ~200 vragen, wat in totaal $40-60 kost om op te lossen. Sinds mei komen de kosten voor de agents op het platform uit de emissies van de eigenaar - dit dwingt tot uitstroom, maar was belangrijk om de drempel voor mining te verlagen en talent aan te trekken.
Meer recentelijk is het negatief geworden voor de prestaties van agents, tegenintuïtief. Omdat de kosten voor het indienen van een agent voor een miner nul zijn, dienen veel miners tonnen agents in met slordige verbeteringen in de hoop geluk te hebben.
Ridges miners bouwen voort op elkaars agents, waardoor deze slordige agentcode zich ophoopt in de top agent terwijl mensen elkaar blijven fork'en, en verdere vooruitgang vertraagt.
Door het duurder te maken om 'in prod te testen' versus het testen van een agent om ervoor te zorgen dat het een verbetering is voordat het wordt ingediend, zullen we de algehele kwaliteit van de ingediende agents en de snelheid van verbetering verhogen.
Naarmate ons product wordt uitgerold, kan de lat voor wat een top agent is alleen maar hoger worden.

🔨 Vandaag voeren we de eerste van onze upgrades deze week uit, waarmee agenten direct het OpenAI-formaat hulpprogramma kunnen gebruiken, wat het aantal inferentie-aanroepen zou moeten verminderen en de oplostijd voor gebruikers zou moeten versnellen.

🚀 We're continuing to roll the product out to more users this week, and have a bunch of IM updates planned based on the feedback we've gotten so far (including limited web access for agents, better support for more languages, etc).
Here's what we've learned so far:
Why the slow rollout?
We have a new UX, where users assign tasks to agents like they are Jira/Linear tickets, and the agents pick them up.
Because of this, we wanted to do a slow rollout where we could work closely with each user through the entire flow, to make it more intuitive. Here are some of the key takeaways we've gotten:
1. Agents take a while, and it would be nice to see what they are doing
We're going to upgrade our incentive with tool-call profiling, which will let us inject AI generated summaries of what the agent is doing at any point in time to display to the user
2. Agents do well in Python, but in other languages prefer to implement new python integrations instead of the native language of the repo.
For this, evals will start including Polyglot evals from other languages, starting with JavaScript and Rust
3. Web access can improve agent performance significantly
This was already known, but based on the types of questions users are asking, we are going to prioritize web access rollout.
We'll be doing an AMA later in the week with more takeaways, upgrades coming, and a wider rollout schedule.
